The game is set inside a magical workshop, and I enjoyed the fantasy-style theme. Three or more matching symbols must land on adjacent reels to earn a payout. There are 576 ways to win across the 3-4-4-4-3 grid. I was surprised not to find a wild symbol, as this is a common feature on most online slots. However, the flaming hand scatter can trigger free spins. 

The base game can become repetitive, so it’s reassuring that there is plenty of action elsewhere. Mystery symbols offer random multipliers from 2x to 10x. The reels are set inside Mr Null’s workshop. I liked the dark, mysterious appearance, though the graphics are certainly not the most modern you will find on online casinos. You’ll encounter bottles covered in cobwebs, candles, and potion books, while Mr Null himself is ever present on the right of the screen. 

The cartoon-style soundtrack added to the sense of intrigue when I played the slot. I heard several other sounds that made me feel like I was in the workshop myself. I enjoyed how the music tempo increased when the bonus features triggered.

Mr. Null’s Wicked Wares bonus features rely on the mystery symbol. It can land on reels 2, 3, and 4 and offers multipliers from 2x to 10x. The mystery symbol then transforms into a regular symbol. My multipliers were multiplied together when two mystery symbols landed during the base game. 

When 3+ scatters land anywhere on the reels, the free spins bonus is activated. I collected 7 free spins immediately. Reels 2, 3, and 4 have multipliers during the free spins round. Each mystery symbol that lands uses the relevant multiplier, which increases by 1 for every mystery symbol that lands. I got an extra free spin when another scatter landed on the reels during this bonus feature.

Mr. Null’s Wicked Wares is one of Pragmatic Play’s best new releases. The slot revolves around mystery symbols, with free spins and multipliers rewarding players. The 5,000x max win is higher than average, and I liked the mad scientist main character. I should say that high volatility doesn’t suit beginners.
